A few weeks have past since I last posted and not much has really changed. I don’t touch league unless my friend is online so I haven’t really changed all that much as a league player. I did practice playing alone, once, so I could learn how to attack the turrets “properly” without being yelled at in actual games. I have at least improved in that department. Though it did take me being killed by a turret about 34 times before this improvement began…
Luckily for me the list of improvements I need to make seems to be shortening. I think.
Today when I began to play my bot games a new problem began to make itself apparent. Since one of the issues I seemed to be struggling with in previous games was actually attacking enemy champions, my friend has to work twice as hard to keep me alive, which usually leaves him lacking in the health department. I found that at times he went completely missing from my sight. He would eventually return with a full health bar and a swirly blue thingy underneath him but not before I got myself killed, not to a turret, but to an enemy champion, That I did NOT attack under turret!
Since we were in a call I was lucky enough to ask him where he was and he would kindly let me know he had ported back to base to buy some items or replenish his health. I did not need to port back to base very often since he was the one getting the currency to protect my character. He is quite the gracious support. Though occasionally he’d tell me he was in base but then his face would appear on screen as someone who got a kill… I’m still not certain as to how he did that.
During our game the question of where he was started to come up more and more often. He would leave me in lane for what felt like hours, and was only a mere 30 seconds. I was scared to leave turret for I knew what those bots would do to me if I was alone. So I would wait until he would respond to let me know his location. After a while he was kind enough to put these little arrows on my map that allowed me to see where he was in distance from me.
Though sometimes trying to follow the line to where he was would get me killed since I had to unlock my screen to trace the lines path, then lock it back on me afterwards. I’d end up in the middle of a battle after a simple mis-click and occasionally I would survive, but in most cases I did not. It wasn’t until our third game that he asked me a very important question. One that I’ll never forget.
“Did you know there is a mini map in this game?”
After he told me this I was actually quite shocked. It had everyone’s icons on it and I could even see when an enemy champion was in an area that wasn’t covered by the fog of whatever its called. I wanna say fog of war. I should really play that tutorial for league again, but he said I don’t need it if I have him. Nonetheless!
I will now be focusing on using this map to the best of my abilities! I am excited to see what new skills and fortune I will gain since I have discovered that this exsist. I have high hopes, and I think he does too~
He’s stopped groaning at EVERYTHING I do and now he only groans at every OTHER thing I do. If that’s not improvement, I don’t know what is. Though I really wish he would stop leaving my lane so I didn’t have to look at the map in the first place. I like having my laning buddy whose always there for me. Well for now I just gotta “suck it up”!
That was my friends response when I told him to stop leaving lane. He told me all great ADC’s “Don’t depend on no one.” So I gotta make my heart cold as stone. Well anyways I’ll keep you updated on the next turn of events.
Hopefully this all works out.
See you tomorrow!
